Buy FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) Certified timber and paper
Avoid buying furniture made from rainforest timbers such as teak or mahogany (a rainforest tree takes 50-60 years to mature and can live for up to 1000 years (4) (5)) - see http://www.rainforestinfo.org.au/good_wood/imp_avd.htm for a list of timbers to be avoided
Look for Rainforest Alliance (the small frog logo) products - sustainable rainforest produce
Avoid products containing palm oil (download the list below) - source http://www.orangutans.com.au/Orangutans-Survival-Information/Helping-you-buy-responsibly-Palm-oil-free-alternatives.aspx

Sponsor a rainforest animal at your local zoo (letting people see these amazing creatures lets people know how precious they are).
Hold a fund raising event and send the proceeds to an organisation such as -
For a fundraising event, create posters (try using http://edu.glogster.com/) about the threats to rainforests and how your solution can help save them.
